went for a new year gathering at a friend's place.
her mum looked me straight in the eye and asked what i am working as.

i said i am working as an accountant.

she continued to looked into my eyes and odd silence.

"You should be a police officer, not an accountant. At least that is
how you look." she said.

now, thats interesting.. nobody believes i am a commando,
nobody believes i am a krav maga/muay thai instructor,
now i don't look like an accountant.

is there any task that i can do in my life that will change the life of people?

a surge of happiness that creates a front which makes people grin for
no explainable reason.

i'll do it.

there are so much things to get done these days i just lost sight of where i am
heading. i have been thinking more about how i can make full use of my life.
i have been thinking how i can make a difference to the people that i choose to.
a friend once told me when i was in my most dire state few months ago that
its not that people shun you or do not put you as their priority. do not change
direction of other people's arrows because you are not them. you change your
own direction of your arrow. you choose who you want to care about. - briefly,
she is trying to say, me myself as an entity, does not have the capability to
effect or affect everyone that is around me. but i can CHOOSE who i want to
care about.

my beliefs are the pillars that holds my vision.
this vision contains ALL the everyday choices that i make.
these choices are supported by a passionate, optimistic and rational me.
which effects as a catalyst to move my beliefs forward and people around me.

sometimes people say we are not responsible for certain tragic incidences or
an individual that has gone down and under.

frankly, that's bull shit.

everyone is responsible.

not under the umbrella of the constitutional law.

but it if you think abit harder. and you close your eyes and touch your heart...

i dare say you will not refute it.

God plans our path and our lives.

God also created this feeling called guilt. yea? maybe he knows its inevitable.

was in the toilet showering today after a long day at work.

inspiration hit me again.

i was thinking... since i am running with jiafang (colleague) every
tuesday and thursday after work, night time.
so am thinking of doing something that i have been thinking about
but haven't the discipline to get it done all these years.

Wake up early in the morning, cycle from bukit panjang to gym,
shower up and off to work 5mins from gym. This happens on Monday morning,
Wednesday Evening. Saturday i will cycle to Gym for the usual thing - classes.

I will start next week.

Lastly, might be travelling with my new friend/colleague alot this year
if she lets me. she's one adventure lady. runner through and through.
she's one of a kind. as crazy as me as far as i unds her now.

vietnam, philipines - cebu/mt. davao/manila, m'sia-mt. kinabalu,
thailand-chiang mai, japan-tokyo/mt.fuji, india - agra/new delhi.

I was relieving myself in the toilet when an idea struck me.

It is another idea to prep up my imaginary cafe.

I will come out with a list of positive or happy things that people can do
when they come over to my cafe. and input some things into the menu!

List to start with:

1) Play Bluff - and come out with a hall of fame list for the best player!
2) Throw plates/egg! - throw at public figures!or input a picture a hate!
3) Dart throwing - this is easy, to pick up girls, just be real good at it?
4) Model like a model - have a room with setting for taking studio shots!

Gonna climb mt. kinabalu in March this year! (16-18th)

work takes on a whole new meaning when you ot every single day.
its like a passion. but it gets so tiring...
tiring and no extra energy to do other things.
i just enjoy the last hour before i slp everynight.
that bit of interaction with mum. that bit of tv watching.
that bit of reading my overdued newsweek. that last bit of whatsapping
and the light dusting of my pillow before i close my eyes.

haha.. ain't life just blissful. and exciting?

I have yet to come out with like 10 or so new year resolution
that i think about every year. i guess till now, the only one
ny reso i can think of is 1) to find a purpose in life. The others
are just categorised in my TO DO LIST.

as how i explained this to someone (i forgotten who)... this
proposition of my new year resolution is HUGE.
proposition=anything stated or affirmed for discussion/illustration.
from dictionary.com

this basically empowers me, gives me an opening... a direction,
towards where i decidedly CHOSE to explore my life.

a purpose is something i felt amiss, and why i begged and cried
to god to point me a direction. i know i need to submit to god
for this to probably happen quicker (i don't know.. my knowledge
is as such and i know probably doubtful than precise. by the way,
i am a christian buddhist. i'm weird, i know.)

AND i noted this down as my new year resolution. i always liked
to make swift decisions-when i exited the train station this past
thursday morning, something struck me so bad. take a closer look
at the ANSWERS that are ALL AROUND ME. instantly, the yearn to
have a clear and purposeful PURPOSE in life filled my head. it
has been so clear, but i was too blinded by all that's been
happening to myself in 2011. it was another eventful year. and
i felt blessed to have lived through that.

this new year resolution will affect all that i represent and how
i approach life every living day. i am more adventurous, open up
and talk to people alot more. i am more mature as a thinker and
while making decisions i tend to look longer term. i began to
expose myself to the sounds and sights and thoughts that are in
my vincinity (while in the past i just didn't bother).

i guess some people are lucky, they found what are THEIR purpose
in life. like jy who always wanted to be a doctor. I believe i
am on this journey myself and although i take longer, i will
eventually get there. i'm confident.

life seems more meaningful after i set this ny reso.

New Year's Eve was really warm. We gathered around in
my dad's serangoon residence at 5pm, after my bball to
kill time, and started to research on our dinner.

haha.. it was a team effort just like old times.

classic as always, we epitomise that from day one.

dinner was great! haha we had so much food and made
so much chao ta peanut butter cookies!! but we managed
to laugh about it. it is this kind of things that i
guess i look forward to every year when we meet up.

We played card games and chatted the whole night.
Catch up we did.

it has been a long year for everyone. and i really hope
this will be a good year for the guys and girls in
YLF. its really nice knowing all of you guys.

hopefully we'll meet after alvin gets back again.
this year we are expecting the graduation of kit,
so probably we should plan something for kit?

i bought my diary for the year. time to make full use of it.

2nd leg of holidays for this december.

its been great! yesterday was so nice :)
My boss ORDERED ME to stop working and follow the whole finance
team for drinking at WHAT! 4pm?! hahahahaha.. and i did. its so
nice gathering at the Irish bar and cozy little corner with the
director footing the bill, i just gan gan drank 2 bottles! haha
had so much laugh and was feeling rather high from the laughters.
went out with evelle, so long nv see her and movie at plaza sing.
oh was she pretty! had a good long chat after the movie. was nice!
saw jy with bf. haha. she was busy looking for her ticket? haha
i am not sure.
her thick black specs with silver lining on the sides and her
figure and how she looks just struck out to me that its her-saw
her when i was collecting my tickets. and affirmed of my judgement
when she turned around. haha. AND i just turned around and walked away,
acting like i'm checking my hp. don't know why i reacted this way
again. defense mechanism probably. hope jy didn't see me!
no coincidence. haha its all in god's plan.

oh and today's gonna be the annual meet up with the guys! refering
to YLF!! my beloved YVIP'07 team :) alvin is overseas looking at
thai girls with his fnds. so i expect a SMALL group today. haha but
its gonna be fun! still! haha.. i am going to MAKE THEM BAKE!
hahahhahaha.. this is going to be hilarious. and we are going to play
bball and movie and heart to heart talk and count down to 2012.

I am sitting down on the floor, looking at the computer screen and thinking to myself... what am i missing? it ain't complete. it doesn't feel complete. i don't see a purpose in life again. and the last time when i encountered this feeling. i switched off my handphone and killed my facebook.

i looked at my handphone and its 2200hrs on a Christmas eve, a blessed day.

oh God, will you give me a purpose in life. or IS THIS my purpose in life.
i don't feel complete. and i don't know what is missing.
i have been thinking ike this everyday for the pass week.

WELL.. i get ideas here and there, i was watching national geographic and discovery channel on cable and i see man as crazy as me, building a machine that ENABLES a disabled war veteran in the states to move through rough terrain, so that he can go fishing like he used to. I see people exploring the wild and understanding and VISITING what Earth and God has created in this world >crossing a river -20degress naked and building a fire at the other end and laughing out loud >jumping off a plane, land and trek through crazy terrains and making diy elevated tents so as to prevent himself from being eaten by wild cats. >the duo that traveled around the world on a motor bike >the anthropologist that began a trek around the world and met people, talk to people, understand their unique way of life and record a most up-to-date history on these communities

it just WAOs me ALL THE TIME, these crazy adventures they take.

probably the answer is not as difficult or complex as i thought? not as unusual or crazy? or could it?

gonna go back to work tomorrow and it will be another

today i had a really good rest at home after taekwondo
class in the morning. just napped, day dream, thinking.

through my thought process, i think i realised that i am
much more confident with my own decision making as
time passes and i am getting a better grasp of who py is.
why am i alive in this fascinating place.

i think it this affirmation, that i yearned for.

I think work has been kind on me. i have got like a really
good cast of colleagues in my workplace and they are all
motivated ladies and a really energetic and smart english
boss. i totally enjoy everyday's work. i am learning, every
single day. and this is an awesome feeling.

The partnership that gl, wk and me built up has been on for
quite awhile and this new spurt of energy after the instructor
course in thailand gave us the confident to move the partnership
into a more adventurous position. it will be a huge project. and
it will change life. (it is what i envision.)

I haven't stopped dreaming. :)

I still want to have my own farm and hotspring all in one in Taiwan.

I still want to do a triathlon.

I still want to own my own cafe.

I still want to do sky diving.

py: i like my job. ya my boss is an ang moh. he is very nice.

py: ya he does, very fast, cannot catch sometimes. slowly
getting used to it.
granny: I also worked for an english man before. that was
way back in 1969.
py: wao, so long ago.
granny: har nor. he also speak very fast. worked for him for
2 years. he also working while i working for him. after 2 years
they went back to england. SGD$150 for one month of work.
i happy until wanna die(direct translated from hokkien). haha
he's a good man.

i understand the overall plan for me in this company
and there is no permanent head count. i signed up for
it anyway. it feels discouraging that i cannot get a
perm position and will most likely receive a 1year
extension on my current contract.

but thinking about things in a more positive light.

i think my performance was not too bad. and i think
that is why they need me for another year and of course
due to their manpower needs.

my plans for myself here is quite clear. (aboveall for my

those are still set routes.

oh... my computer application hanged. i called the

indian man just at the opposite side of the room.

he came over and explained what went wrong, and

what needs to be done to get my application back

up again. i was really greatful the it man came to my

i just kept going "what? again?" haa.. the ascent was really

strong! but he slowed down.. and things got easier.

haa.. this made me realise how i took things for granted

while working all these while..

singapore is an english speaking country. and i converse

with my colleagues via english and chinese. i feel at home.

now.. imagine i am working in brazil, china,france?

haa.. i will be feeling so frustrated.

no fret though! i have a good role model today.

totally enjoyed my day today!

Worked hard, had vietnamese mooncake (taste like char siew + orange)
, also had choco+mango mooncake, durian mooncake, yam mooncake,
watched cars2 with university mates and had a good chit chat session
at xin wang :) treated them to supper cos i just got my first pay.

looking forward to adam's treat NEXT! haha :D

Was flipping through my personal file and i saw these few
foolscap paper.

Detailing my 5year plans and 10year plans.

haha.. I'm no longer going to be a doctor, i'm no longer gearing
to be a physiotherapist, i'm no longer who i used to be back then.

No fret!

It's not all 100% different though.

I think the adventurous and crazy part of me still roars quite loudly
in me. "jumping out of a plane once again","get masters + Phd",
"open peng yong's concept of a cafe", "helping 366 people a year",
"educate and inspire people in my own way","happily married".

It's still valid 5 and 10 year plans :)

Time passes, i get older, things changes.
Some promises are broken, some more made.
Friendship faded away and new ones blossom (@times old friendship reignite)

Someone (ok alot of people said this) haha..

life's indeed a rollercoaster.

Remember to scream and laugh and cry when you need to. because its worth it.

then bringing the kids down to tampines to pay the last

respect to sir stanley.

it's my last task before i gonna move on from feeling the los.

This week was a momentous week.

I had so much to do,and so much to think about.
There was no time for anything else sometimes that
i think of it.

Been living life, one day at a time, without much
plans, without time to think of myself.

Graduation was a really memorable day.
I get a chance to see everyone again. All my dear friends.
We put on our tall, square hats and black long gown with a purplish pink scarf.
And we walked up one by one to take our long awaited degree.
It was one of those days where I felt so happy – while being hungry and thirsty and tired.

Haa.. but it was all good, because so many of my friends were there together with my family to celebrate this momentous occasion with me.

Thank you jia yun, for always being there for me when I needed u.
Thank you chong yuan for being such a good buddy! My dear primary school buddy.

It is a very sad end to the week.

ronnie my commando signaler mate.
he passed away on friday night at 1125pm.

its one of those days where i felt dazed.
its the 2nd time in recent time i felt this way.

i just cam back from his wake.

his grandmother and father. their grief that
hung on their faces. especially when i saw her
grandmother's eyes and arch of the back. the white hair.
白发人送黑发人
the absolute grief that was in that scene when the ceremonial
chants were done. and granny's clasped hands shaking up and down.
the mumbles in her mouth.

it was a heartbreaking scene.
it got to me.
i felt heartbroken.

ronnie's a strong commando. he fought cancer for a year.

thanks for the memories. god bless. and god bless ur family.

Just done with my 3rd day of work.

The working environment is quite condusive :)

Collected my Academia Regalia (graudation gown) today.

Paid so much for all the stuff.. haha i am so broke right now.
Got a good news today! The insurance money for the car
accident in Australia is being approved and i will get $750

There are so much things happening last week that i have
not much time for myself - to be at peace with myself.

I went to Jiayun's church on sunday.

Mmm.. after Saturday's going down to pray at the site sir
was sea buried, i still felt that i needed to talk to god, and
i asked jy if i can join her. she said ok.

There was this silent meditation moment at the end of the
service. and i just started to communicate with god. I told
him how i felt, i ask for him to take care of sir, and i tell
god i will do my part to continue his legacy and ask for his
guidance.

After church, i went to sign up for kayaking course that will
be on 20/8 to 21/8. I was so tired.

At night i met dickson for supper. we just opened up to each
other. its nice. was a good day.

After my black belt grading

Winds were very strong today, all along the road.
Justin and me, on bicycles, cycled to tanjong rhu.

Paid our respect to Sir Stanley and spent 10 quiet
minutes feeling the wind, Feeling for you.

I can only remember saying thank you,
and more thank yous.

Sir, sometimes i wonder, is this your challenge to us?

Do you remember at my black belt grading, my name
was annouced over the loud speaker, and i needed to
go down to demonstrate my abilities, to be graded.

and i said "sir, i think i am not ready"

and you said "i dun care if u are ready or not, but you are
going."

i went, and i was shivering, nervous. i did what i could,
and when i am done.

you said "u passed"

i felt estatic. and that is one lesson that i will never forget.
to conquer my own fears, nomatter how much your fears
want to eat me up.

So this time , with your death, and all the politiking - senior
instructors wanting to take over all your classes and input
their so called teaching philosophy into ur students. and from
what i heard, the instructors are irresponsible - one of them and
another having toooooo many classes.

that ain't gonna happen.
eventhough u are not teaching anymore, you are somewhere better.
but your teachings are in our blood.

we are your legacy. we'll fight to push forward your philosophy of
taekwondo.

one step at a time, we are. trust us. give us strength. shout at us as u always do.

I will be visiting you tomorrow at the very beach where they
held a sea burial service for you.

I am sorry I got angry with cheong yen for his indecisiveness.
I just treated your death very seriously. I cannot take their
ai mai ai mai attitude. Sorry i got pissed.

I am sorry that tomorrow i will not be able to find the exact
place to pay my last respect to you as we could not find out
where. Justin and me tried. We will go to somewhere between
east coat park and tanjong rhu, and try to feel for you. And do
our prayer there.

Oh ya! I signed a contract with Schroder's today, 9 months,
paying $3.2k per month. My first job after university. You told
me i am not a lost act yet before. (as i did badly for jc.) - you
never gave up on me.

I remember I once called you up and told you i want to be a gold
medalist in olympic for taekwondo, and we met the next day for
coffee and you told me the sacrifices that needs to be make - put
school on hold and train full time - but i was persistent that i can
juggle both. i tried training very hard under you together with
studying. but i did not make it far. i gave up. you told me to coach.
i thought i was useless and this is like the last option. but looking
back now. Thank you sir, you saw that i had the potential to be a
gold medalist, but i did not have the courage to give up the stability
that comes with normal work and studies. When you give me the
coaching mandate, I now think you saw something in me. I always
felt that i have a thing or two with kids and education. I think that
is what you saw. Thank you.

I was angry with you once for pushing me down the gut that i suck
at my coaching methods, but you showed my my weakness. when
someone suddenly stops giving you comments, then he has given up
on you. A cliche. You have never given up on me.

That is why I will not give up on myself.

He is dead, but apart of him still lives in me. -

He is still there, being the critique that keeps shouting in
my ears.

I can still feel him imposing his confidence in his high standards
and the way he live by them.

The father like figure that always gives me inputs about my life
and how i should approach life still speaks to me.

He changed me in so many ways by his training and giving me
the confidence to conquer the world. It isn't just a black belt in
Taekwondo, it is a black belt to life.

I still think of him from time to time.

- That man is Stanley Yeo, my Taekwondo master, father and
fiercest critique. He is missed.

Interview at Deloitte went well.. but there are certain
qns i need to answer myself, like what is it that i wanna
do in my accounting career.

doing individual taxation gives me an opportunity
to learn more in taxation. but does it help me in my
future career. i wanna be a finance manager and
finance director 6years time. does this job help me
to get there? i do not know.

today was a good day

i woke up late and as usual for today
dad and mum bid me good bye this morning while
i was half asleep. they are in genting highlands by now

went to plaza singapura and mmm..
i did not get to meet up with heidi as she was tied up
with something. end up i went out of plaza singapura.

helped to type out an itenary for loyhan's new zealand
trip. it was like reminiscing my trip which is really still
so vivid in my brain. :)

jy came after that and we went to scout for a new
printer for her studies. haha.. we took awhile before we
set on a printer at taka. then help her bring it home.
her house is huge! haha.. and she played the piano which
i felt relaxed while listening.

i got my 3 wine from australia :) brought back so much
memories at yarra valley.

then i went back home and cleaned up my place.

bro's coming my place for a sleep over :D excited!

After i asked him why he kept saying thank you.
he said "i just felt really thankful."

Another of those feeling where i just did what i could
to help and someone telling me so explicitly (and i think
the best way he can know of showing appreciation) and
so many times did he say it. I was so paiseh. but i felt
good.

waterloo st. is really flooded today! with humans
at least. haha..
it is guan ying ma's birthday today! :D and it
was the first time i need to enter a temple by
batches! so yea! u can imagine it how bad it is. haa

Got home and slept! really slept! so tired!
and i had a really weird dream! hahaha..
fighting some black guy and thinking of jiayi all the
time while fighting this person. and meeting sec
school friends in it. ok, it is so original and its tiring
after i woke up! haa..

i just finished watching randy pausch's last lecture
again.

a one hour swim today was enough to make me feel
lethargic.

But no doubt it was a good swim!

initially i was still real scared of the water.. so i just
swam half laps..

then after awhile, i was amused by a grandpa who
swim soooo slowly.. but is never drowning!

i gave chase. kick and scoop and breathe and kick...

haa.. managed to chase till half the pool. haa

after awhile came two girls! they came into the pool where
i was and just kept swimming laps!! and i felt soooo paiseh!

so i told myself, die die also must try to swim one lap!

haa.. and so i did! not one! but 3 full laps! :D

had dinner with cy after the swim and i feel so bad that
i am half listening to him just now. haa but hopefully
i get to help his friend out..

ok! i really hope ur cramps get less painful tmr. kinda worried.

but realised i got nothing i can do
