feel like a really stubborn kid again.
just. felt a tinge of sian-ness..
but i guess it can't be help.
I guess sometimes i am also the culprit of
such sarcasm. Especially these days when
i tried to be a bad person at times..
Sometimes honest opinions are not what
you want to hear..
Sigh..
Just had a discussion with my vp-finance
together with my supervisor.. talked about
so much things.. ranging from resignation,
work load, moving of offices, learning at work
etc.. she looks genuine in her approach to
sharing with us the experiences. There are afew
things that i learnt from this experience.
The fact that you don't learn without trying out
new things. Trying out new things will incur
mistakes and you get 'shouted' at, but those are
the valuable learning journey that will stick with
one than just being smooth sailing all along.
The thing about resignation is, although through
whatever means and emotions attached to it-
a matured and thought-through(ed) process.
The piece of paper meant a written communication
that vp will respect and a parting letter. Implication
is one should always be serious about it even if
there are any emotions attached to it. Because vp
will always treat our decision with respect.
The thing about learning in our current function and
always changing of portfolio in our tour here. She
doesn't expect ppl to be loyalist-because the attrition
rate here is super high. But she wants people to leave
this place and feeling they have so much to offer.
So by always rotating job functions and portfolios,
the rationale is to reduce boredom and monotonous
task, and thus increasing the level of excitement,
increasing our exposure. It is a very steep but exciting
learnig curve. She also noted that U.E is a place
where there is a flat heirachical system. So alot of
things are possible here. Everyone can talk to everyone.
I guess that is why i like my stay in u.e. but mmm..
i already know my plans for the next 4 yrs. so yea.
thanks vp and seniors for the sharing.
woohoo! still got sooo much work to do.. budget need
to amend again, and project still not sent to miao xian..
think i am so dead!
A blog quote
"Arthur Lydiard, Run to the Top (2nd ed. Auckland: Minerva, 1967, p. 4):
The first step to enjoying running -- and anyone will enjoy it if he takes that first step -- is to achieve perfect fitness. I don't mean just the ability to run half a mile once a week without collapsing. I mean the ability to run great distances with ease at a steady speed.
That's one hell of a first step. But the great coach is right: you will never enjoy running or understand its satisfactions if you jog around the block for 20 minutes four times per week. I find that only after one hour of running am I properly primed and stoked. And then the real run begins. Or as I recall Joe Henderson saying back in the '70s in a Runner's World column: Run the first hour for your body, the second for your self. "
