STILL IN SCHOOL...

This week has been another week of volunteering. and i am always
learning, always sharing the views of wat i learn on this blog.
i believe that the spirit of volunteering comes from sharing.
when u go and volunteer, u basically, get into a world of
servicing. trying to make others feel better, making the place
cleaner, etc. on the other hand, u are sharing ur precious
time to help make the lives of ppl better. sharing is the
motor of volunteering. without u knowing, u are making the
lifes of ppl better, when u try to make their life better.
its a motor, and yes, it might burn out sometimes, but
u can will eventually come back after some repair or
prolong rest. u, are always rearing to volunteer. the fuel
of volunteering lies with the amount of passion, and heart u
have to make a difference, to share. the amt of the fuel
is decided by you. somesay i dun have a good heart and is
too preoccupied by my things rather than to start to help other
ppl. this i can understand. but it is no excuse. some other
ppl will find tt it is their destiny and responsiblity to make
the life other ppl more interesting and always seek for the
opportunities to move towards that goal. these ppl's fuel for
volunteering is projected infinite. and something magical happens
when u are volunteering, u feel happier, u learn more things,
u get more friends, u 'see' more things, and when u are bringing ppl
on the ride of volunteering, it will be so fun, so awesome. ha..
the joy that u derive from volunteering will eventually translate to the beneficiaries.

this, is my take on volunteering.

i am gg to help out in woodlands for share on team later. there will be
a food ration distribution session later. that is one of the programmes
under taken by share on team.

share on team is a team of volunteers, used to consist of a core group of
younger volunteers, but they are now all too busy to come back to help out.
personally, i feel a responsibility to come back. i want to make sure that
this organization functions, admist all my agenda's i will definitely go
back to help out when i am free.

however there are some issues that i feel that share on team can improve on.
such as the management of the organization. it has been the dream of the founder
batch of share on team to become officialise. as being officialised means we can do alot more things such as having our own office and programmes and its also easier
for us to engage in raising funds for projects and it gives us more credibility
when we are gg out to do our task, such as getting students from the schools
to help out etc. currently we are under the support of rc, and marsiling constituency. to put it bluntly, i am sick of helping out in the rc constituency.
because we are not having a good balance of things. we are gg to become
the events organizers of the constituency. and we are not really helping the less
fortunate. This leads me to another point. the objective of share-on team.
come on.. share-on team's objective cannot be, " helping to organize and run
rc programmes" that is the job of the rc leaders! not ours.
i believe the focus must be set right from the start (which we didn't).
i believe the objective should be something like, creating opportunities
for the young and old to enjoy the joy of volunteering through multi facet
activities.

-direct volunteering
-overseas volunteering
-sports volunteering
-education volunteering

i believe i need to talk to sharon soon. but b4 that i got to draw out a simple draft proposal to sharon telling her that to make the organization more structured
is doing us good rather than bad. ha..

oh yea.. school was great today! Whee! i love school!
