Recce Trip to Ren-Ci and Sg Christian Hm!!

Yesterday was a good day =))

(You might be wondering why it is that i always update my blog one day after
the date of the event.. One reason, i'm all tired after the day of event. haha..Will
wanna work on my bed more, then on the lappy.)

Another Recce trip, as you have already knew, i love recce trips.
Meng Shyan and me visited Renci Moulmeium today.
I knew that place inside out! Its still the same old place =)

For your information, i was attached over at the home beside Renci moulmeium
during YVIP 2001 attachment. It was one of the most memorable places where i
spent two weeks of my life at.
I love the place. That stretch of road..

Renci is a nursing + rehab place. I know i am not supposed to pose senstitive pictures
and information, so yes, i have decided to pose some photos that i believe will
not bring any harm to Renci and any natural person.

The representative that we liase with was as usual, all smiley and helpful
in all the ways that u can think of. We basically listened to her suggestions of
what our volunteers can possibly do there.

Then we recce-ed the compound. It was a wonderful place! Its old school,
but its full of wonderful people. =)

Before leaving that road, we decided to visit Singapore Christian Home!!
=DD
It has been years, since i last visited SCH.
... memories just kept flowing back into my head...
The staff there are still the same.
Mdm Neo, Nurse Emily, the best people in the world!
=)

I just love that place man.

I hope the participants this year will also experience the joy of being attached
in that home =)

And yea! I've prove of me being there during 2001 yea!! =DD
Oh ya, after that, i left for Eunos, where i played bball with hl and her friends.
haha.. like i said, alot of fun than competitive. But they were, in my opinion
alot more competitive than the previous session. Haha.. Maybe because there
were'nt any kids around this time around.
Guess hl's shooting got better. And Bao*2 was pretty good.. Haha..
Look forward to the next time man!
Meanwhile, everyone is working hard for exams. Great!

Today's Commercial Law class was great i thought.
Revised a hell lot of commercial law this week. And seriously,
i think i am getting better at it.
I am just happy that i am able to understand what SK Yeo(lecturer) is saying.
haha..

There's no stopping now.

Jia you ppl! Esp those that are currently mugging in school, like me. haha..

Long Live YV, Jia You ppl!! =D

Cheers,

Peng Yong

Great yest, great today!

Hey!

Yesterday was a good day.. !

=D

I love YVIP - Attachment Reccee Trips!
It provides opportunity for me to talk to the management level folks
in the homes and to feel the atmosphere in a different home.
Every home/welfare organization has a different culture and atmosphere.
Some friendly, some tense, some overly excited, some dead..
I get to interact with the clients there too!
Of course, i love to be there for them, for that moment in their life.
Attachment's role in YV is so much etched in how i live my life.
Love it!

Oh ya, haha.. i visited MYMCA @ Sims avenue. Its situated just 5mins walk
from Paya Lebar. It was near the place where during tf camp, we did the amazing race,
and one of the station was this famous tau huay store!? rem?! haha..
Yea.. super near there.
Spoke to Mr. Michael, he was another super nice person. Haha..
Its funny, cause i went in all hyped up, cause its been a long break since the
last reccee trip to a home. haha.. And yea.. i was smiling.. and talking at the same time.
haha.. He too was doing that. so yea! It was one heck of a smiley interchange
of words. hahahaha..

After that i went to mug! =DD
Actually Eunos becomes quite a nice place after u get there afew times(twice).
There are hair salons that cuts your hair, without regard to guys or gals.. young or younger..
at an amazing price of S$2.80!!!!!!!! Yes.. u are right.. u didn't see it wrong.. =P
There are also like so many super-markets in that estate, and alot of famous food!!
Haha.. Singapore is so full of jewels conceived up waiting to be discovered!

Alright, gotta jia you lo~!
Gotta go back to mug, since i just finished YV stuff. haha..

I was thinking of having a three 1's policy + wake up early habit. haha..
Wanna wake up early every morning!
Then complete 1 jogging session, 1 topic in my revision, 1 YVIP related work.
haha.
Starting from tomorrow!

Cheers,

Peng Yong

Yay! Its Monday!

Today was a good day!

haha.. Everyday seems to be great recently eh!

Morning did alot of YVIP TF attachment handbook, and was able to do
afew pages of it out of 16. Ha.. i'm on the right track Bro!
Afternoon went to book the tickets for Taiwan trip this coming November.
It costs S$550. Ex? Ha.. its currently the best deal in town.
But it still got like 3/4 of my account balance. Yes.. now u know how broke
i am now. haha! Looking forward to Oct 1st! haha.. Thank you PAP!!! Love ya!

Just felt really guilty after booking the ticket. But, i really can't just leave my
travel mate/bro/best friend in Taiwan for another 4 days while i rush back to
Singapore on 21st nov so that i can attend the Pre-Camp Briefing, YVIP'08.
I just felt guilty in all fronts. Guilty cause the commies and The big 3 are gonna
be so disappointed.. Sigh. I personally curse and swear such a clash and blame
myself too. I'm sorry.
But really, i am at a loss, i mean.. YVIP'08 and SVC means alot to me. Its been
so much a part of my life. And i just felt bad missing Pre-Camp.
No-Haps.. I know what i gotta do now. And i will do my best bro. Lets jia you MS!!

Evening went to Eunos(Super far!!) to play bball with HuiLi and Co!
haha. got there, changed up, and played with my bro, and all the other street ballers.
It was fun, though i just lost 3 matches straight to bro. haha.. he's crazy today.
After tt, was engaged by HuiLi to be a rebounder for her opponent team. haha.
had alot of fun playing with them.
Just "orh...ed"something after the game(Realised something).
I was taking a break at courtside, and saw the girls(With Huili in it playing) and the
other side, with street ballers playing. hmm.. there were some differences.
So i kept spilling out my thoughts to Weida(bro) and yeap, got to a conclusion.
The street ballers are yes.. playing bball, but they are playing it with a competitive
drive, its pretty obvious, they are chasing for lose balls, fighting for rebounds aggressively.
Contrasts, Huili's side, they were playing, with alot of laughters and energy.
Although they were also chasing after lose balls, stealing from one another possession.
The atmosphere was different. =D
Something i learnt today. haha..
Thats why playing with the girls seems more happy sometimes.
But playing with street ballers are exciting.
Different experience to go with different personalities and objective to be on that street
court this past evening.

Later, went to KFC to have dinner, and mugged at MAC!!
haha.. Did like 10 pages of commercial law. haha.. still underachieving.
I'll do better tomorrow!! =D

Tml will be a YVIP work day! haha.. Morning onwards to NCSS,
reccee campsites then afternoon meeting MS for attachment handbook making.
hopefully can squeeze in a good 3 hrs of mugging time after all those. haha..

Jia you Everybody in exam prep and YVIP'08 prep!!

Cheers!!!

Great weather!

The weather's fantastic! I love it!

Love it when its sunny,
the feeling of sunni-ness is like the celebration of life.
Whenever there is such strong sunlight,
I try to be part of it,
It clears my soul when i close my eyes,
while i embrace the heat's language and her towering influence.
For a moment in life,
I felt free from all the problems of reality,
and take that moment to thank life for this opportunity,
to well..
Live.

Just now after school, after commercial law, managed to get
ah Goh(Weida), out for a run.
Haha.. its suppose to be a run that capitalizes on the heat,
so that we can work on our endurance, and plus the theme
today is hills, so yes, high gradient. We ran alot of hills and slopes.
Haven't felt so out of breath for so long.
It was a good 1hr5mins run.
Steady la bro,
lets have one of this every week!
haha..

Have fun ppl!! Its Saturday!
Oh ya, i most likely missing the pre-camp briefing for YVIP'08
because Weida and me, were able to find a great deal!!
for a air ticket of S$545 per person, we will be traveling to TAIWAN
this coming November, from 12th to 26th. Its been a long wait,
and both of us just ''kio dio'' (Lucky to hit the jackpot). haha..
Sorry guys!! =XX
No worries, i'll make sure the necessary prep will be in place when
pre-camp comes. =P

Going to bathe and mug lo,
JIA YOU FOR EXAMS PEOPLE!!

Cheers!

Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

Hey!

yesterday night was pretty much a defining night in a way?
because there was this video that i watched on youtube that
"broke the inner defence" i had in my heart.

This was part of the sypnosis of the video clip.

~Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch (Oct. 23, 1960 - July 25, 2008) gave his last lecture at the university Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium. In his moving presentation, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals.~

Video hits amounted to.. 6Million plus. An overnight media sensation some touted.
But i believe it has a far more impending truth(About his lecture) behind this one-night celebrity. He's potrayed as cool, funny, engaging and moving in his last lecture.

Randy Pausch Last Lecture: Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

My 感想 : It was educational(it was suppose to be..) and it was striking just right after i
switched off the Laptop of mine. I don't believe many 22 years old seriously sit down
and think about the prospect of dying. So yea, there i was, sitting on the couch and
along the silent night, my inner heart was just fighting the idea of me dying young.
"i mean.. that won't happen, its impossible.. " " average mortality age for a man in
singapore currently stands at 83 yrs old. " " I still have alot of things i wanna do,
i can't just. die.." So.. there i was, my self defense reacted.
Then came the logical side of me that kicks in.. What if... I die young? what is the implications?
what am i suppose to do with my family and my assests? have i done enough in this world
to leave it now? if not how? so death is as unpredicatable as how the examiners presumes
how good a student i am(i made this up), then what did i learn from this?
TAKE CHARGE OF MY LIFE. That was the only ans to all these qns that kept appearing.

So yeap.. thats basically what i learnt. Take charge of my life while i still can.
Love the people that i know i need to and will. Do whatever things that i wanna do and
do them to the best of my ability. No regrets is the unanimous result of this.
Just treasure life.

haha.. yea! Yesterday was a great lecture. I learnt alot. Thanks Randy.

Cheers!

SIM Open house!

Today was Sim Open house!
Kinda love open house, these are my following reasons:

-Well.. u get to see alot more new faces(including alot more Mei Mei..)
-The things are free!! I mean i usually stock up on my pens and note pads
during these open houses. I mean if u dun take it, u're kinda stupid eh?
(i know.. i am being giam siap.. in this age, its all about safe cost eh..Haha..)
-I get to ask alot alot of questions that i have doubts about, on my course,
on other courses i am interested in. (A public apology to Javin and Wayne,
they waited for me while i was talking to the receptionist about the degree
courses offered by SIM University on 1)Social work, 2)Counselling. Hey!!
i'm seriously interested in them! =D)
-There are street performances by the SIM singing club, which i thought
was brilliant. Helped to steer the mood up! =D

And here's a photo of my class mates and my course coordinator!! From left~Xinlong(the smartest in class), Gina(our smiley+helpful+encouraging course coordinator), ZhongRen(the most affable guy around),Wayne(e most 和蔼可亲 classmate and the reputable indian man in our class =P), and me! =D

>just found out through today's open house that from next year onwards, which
we will all be changed from full time to part time students, supposingly for us to
go out and work, to get some working experience bla bla bla.. yeap!
Today we got it cleared. The working period of 2.5yrs from next year onwards
will not beclocked into the mentorship criteria(of 3 yrs) stipulated by CPA(Certified
Public Accountant)Australia. From the CPA Australia's staff that entertained our
questions just now. She mentioned that we are currently "CPA Passport holders",
only when we graduate from my current course BBACC Rmit university, will we be
accepted as "Assosiates CPA Australia" from then, we will have to go through
1) 3 years mentorship programme, 2) CPA Australia programme. After tt,
estimated @ 3 years after graduation from this degree can we be awared the
title of CPA. haha.. That means.. i'll be 25 when i get my degree, and 28 when i get
my CPA Australia. haha..I'm not worried about the age.
All these implication implies that i'll have to work next sem(next year) onwards,
and yeap.. like wat Xinlong advised me, to plan my life properly, and know how to get
there. =) Today really cleared some doubts.
In terms of the clocking of CPA Australia Mentorship hours. And the internship dates
doesn't work in favour of us.. Hmmm..

I just needed a break after a long day of work and yeap.
went to play bball just now. So shuang. =P

Most likely i'll be out to earn alot as much cash as i can next year,
partly to pay my own school fees and partly to save up.
Still thinking whether to work part time or full time and what job to work.
Was thinking of working in the bank, but oh well.. lets see what happens.
=D

Cheers!

"Light the dark, Warm thy heart."

Yesh!! Its the week ends!

Two things before this weekend comes.

1. My parents are in the idea of moving house.

Think i am pretty much okay with the idea, and i think my parents will only
sell the house if they get some outrageous bids. Somehow, from wat i heard
there are some.. hmm..
well.. lets see what happens..

2. Tomorrow new nets, my ex. Basketball team is having a gathering.

Man.. can't join them.. but i am happy that they are having such a gathering!
Hope they have a good time playing together!! =D

Something beside these two issues.
Did u guys catch the paralympics opening ceremony? I thought it was brilliant,
kinda a shame that i wasn't able to attend. I had a chance, but i gave it up. haha.

Are RJC students such good students? (that they can say that ITE students shouldn't
have been born to life?)

--> Thats something that my brother's camp mates (whom are from RJC) said to him.
I thought it was a naive remark by his camp mates. Its absurb. Nomatter how u look
at it. Its absurb.
ok.. they are smart.. they are hardworking.. they score well in exams eventually..
SO? What rights do they have to make that statement? haha..

Everyone has their own right to live the life they have. (it's being etched so delicately
in the Human Rights Law.) And i believe my brother is a late bloomer.
He is smart in his own ways. Not really academicly, but he is a talent in his own right.
I believe he is working hard in life alr. And its a great sign that he is gg to be a polytechnic
student come april 2009 =D

Let's hope that RJC student will GROW UP soon..

haha.. i am pretty amused by all these narrow minded ppl.. haha.. paiseh if i was big aggitated
in how i express these things. ha.

Tomorrow is going to be another class of Commercial Law, Gotta jia you lo!!

Cheers!

Thank you!! ppl From Cartel!

Great!

Yesterday, 7/9/08(Sunday) was to be my last day of work at
cafe cartel. The people there are the nicest bunch of people i
can come across. They took care of me. Taught me so much.
And i left without doing anything special for them. I wanted to
write to them, but after a second thought, i belief the best way
to leave will be to leave silently.
Didn't want to have a 'drag-ass' quitting scence, where the
nice people will try to get me to stay and all(if there was even
going to be this scence.) I wanna avoid all that. I guess i was
pretty clear of my position to leave. I needed to start revision
early in my studies. I have learned enough from this job about
the cafe and F&B industry. My schedule after exams doesn't
give me leverage to go for work at cafe cartel.
What's left now is to work hard for my Sem2 Exams and then
try to fulfill all that i had planned to accomplish this year.
Its been a roller coaster year so far this year.
I guessed i passed it pretty well. But i wanna end it with a
flourish.

Jia you!

Oh ya!! haha.. i didn't forget that Zhing. Will treat ya soon yea!
just tell me when u rreally want that treat =)
I'll try to make myself free.

For people from cafe cartel:
Joey-> You thought me a hell lot, i was always so over confident and
stuff, u just brought me down to earth, thank you so much!
Joeis-> You're one pretty lady! haha.. i can't bring myself to look at you,
cause i tend to like someone so easily. haha.. maybe thats why i always look
away. all the best in your future as a dentist!
Steward-> He's the guy that got me employed! I owe u everything for this job, thanks!
Kun Shuan-> My 2nd Shi Fu! Haha. he was the one that really taught me everything.
again, thanks man!
Yan Shun-> The big size yet friendly guy! My Shi Fu no.1, taught me how to do closing
for the cafe. You're great, thank you!
James-> The best man (Main chef)i know around the kitchen, the best in his own rights! Thanks!
SORRY i am always so blur inside cause i tend to be in auto-pilot mode whenever i am
serving. haha..
Ron-> He's a nice guy =) Congratulation of getting the hand of Sharon, treat her well! =D
Simon->A good guy! haha.. he's one of the most hardworking guys in the whole kitchen,
The newest cook, but u can see his hardwork in those 2 shiny eyes of his!
Adeline->My grss junior, she's the Supervisor in arm around. haha.. always there to make sure
everything is in well order. haha.. thank you for the patience =)
Cindy-> She's a nice lady, also a senior staff. Jia you for ur standard chartered marathon!I'm sure to be running and completing, see ya there!
Brother-> He's the guy that cleans up all the dishes and keeps the whole place clean. He's the guy that i turn to whenever we need support, mentally, he's a funny guy and i will miss him alot!
Sharon-> Thank you for the countless hours that u taught me guitar in the mid night after our work and also times that i just sat down beside you and just.. chat. ya know.. those were interesting moments, cuz i thought i had fallen for u tt time. haha.. but i know i can't like any person now. And it was all cleared when i saw u with ron. for that moment, i was happy. =) Thank you for the wonderful memories =D
Lee Wei-> Assistant manager for cartel! she is one lady that always put work above the personal relationships in the restaurant and still not letting relationships be affected. She's the kinda gentle boss ya know. haha.. and i really dun know how to call her and tell her i am quiting. Just hope she knows soon. =) Thank you.
Juliana(MeiMEi)-> She's a middle-aged lady that's like me, working as a waiter. Always the target of criticism for her personality is such. She is always so lazy to others, bossy to others, and so ai lao mai lao.. haha.. but i just felt that she is genuine in her heart all the time. Just a feeling, and i wish her the best of luck in the future.
Jing Yan-> She's from China! Middle-aged.She's also super hardworking, other than some bad habits.. haha.. Huo Dao Lao Xue Dao Lao, she potrays everything there is! haha.. she learns the dishes, the english name of all the dishes and tries to communicate with the customers in english too. sometime she can't do it, so i'll have to step in, but u just can't help kao tao-ing to her sincerity and hardwork. Jia you! And hope u can see ur family soon! =D
Cindy-> Another chef, really funny lady, she is from China too i guess. haha.. i dunno but she is a nice lady too =D
SooYing-> she's the one that bail me out of one of the biggest debacle in the time i'm there. There was a time i just totally screwed up as a server, served two wrong tables, and i was in a shock. Arrows were shooting here and there, james was asking me where i send the dishes to, simon was saying his side of the story, i was at a lost. Then sooying told the kitchen to make two one more dish, saying that its a late order. I hit onto such shitty situations many times in my time there, but i am fortunate to have ppl around me that were experience and always got me out of it. Thanks~!

Here's the end of the rolling list of names i wanna thank.
I bet i have missed out someone, but i do wanna thank everyone for their effort and
care they have showered upon me during these 2 month.
Though i dun think anyone on the list will actually read this list, but i just wanted to type it out anyway. I didn't know any other way to do it.
Here's a heartfelt thank you to all of you. =)

All is great, next up will be my studies, I'm ready.
Bring it on!

Cheers,

Peng Yong

Its a new month!! Happy Teacher's Day!! =D

Hey!! Thank you for all the tags!! I WILL LIKE TO EXTEND MY HEARTFELT
THANKS TO ALL OF YA!! =D

Oh yes, here u go Bro(Jun Yang!) haha.. i haven't been posting, cause i'm part
busy with school work and revisions, part-time work and volunteer work..
and part caused by my laziness.. haha.. everyone knows i am always late and
lazy and stuff.. haha.. =P

Today i was especially happy! =D
This past day was the last day of COMEX'08!! haha..
And this 3 days was a spree for me? haha..
I basically bought a LCD tv on the cheap($299) yesterday, bought a printer/fax
machine to replace my 'kong ka kiao' printer($268) and bought something that is
really special to me!($66.90) =D

haha.. i didn't foot everything of cause, just about half of it. my Dad and Mum were
kind enough to foot some of the bill.

The special thing that i bought for myself? haha.. Its the PS3 game, "Metal Gear Solid
4! " haha!! Its one of those games that u gotta wait for like 2-3 years. then u might
get hold of it? Its the fourth installment, and the last one, i expect it to be the greatest
of the legacy. (partly cause it costs a bomb..) haha.. Every episode was filled with so much
twist in the story line that i get so super hooked on it. Just simply love his games =D
This time it will be even better, i have put my money on it!! =DD
~Later i'll have some photos to go along with this post.

These few days i have been.. well.. mugging like mad?!
haha.. i knew i didn't do well in my mid semester exams.
Although my self-defense mechanism starts to kick in now..
wanted to say .. cause i put too much time on insurance and now i have quit and i lost
so much precious time? cause i work too much? cause i train too much for my marathon
and taekwondo till i am so tired whenever i get home, which induces sleep and less work?
cause i am just a loser..? maybe i am putting too much time into thinking of how to impress
the girl i like and i dun think i have did a good job AT ALL.. **
haha.. i can just start blaming the gods all the way to hell..
but i decided to take responsibility.

Ha.. thats why i have started to mug. And am truly wanting to do well.

Oh ya oh ya! U know that day in campus, there was a RMIT Graduation/conferment
ceremony! haha.. so many ''Shi Fang Mao", happy faces and proud parents!
I Seriously wanna get there asap! I told Weida.
I was flipping through the ceremony's booklet on the table and i saw 3 special awards
given out by ACCA, CPA Australia and RMIT herself!! Those 3 awards are awarded to
the best student in the whole accountantcy programme! I wanna be one of the 3!
Its great that i at last got a concrete goal/mission to accompany my burning desire
to get a degree with distinction. "Wo Qiu Zhi Bu Der!!"

Oh ya, i also went for the 21km, Safra Army Half Marathon/ Singapore Bay Run last
Sunday!! =D
I think i did well. I managed to conquer my leg injury. I haven't recovered fully from
my injury(Called "ITB bend".. Basically an inflamation of the ligament at my knee area.)
and i estimated my self to last 30+ mins before i need to start walking. Hahaha..
I managed to run 1hr20mins before the pain really kicked in. It was painful from
that point on, by i just kept up the pressure. When the pain is beyond explanation, i'll
walk for a while, then start running for another 2-3km, walk, then run again!
The last 2 km was the best! =D I saw that freaking 20km mark and i basically sprinted.
What pain, i don't feel anything, i think due to my anxiety of finishing the race and
the cheers of the crowds at the finish line. Yes! I'm one step closer to completing a
full marathon, that is happening this December's first week's Sunday! =D
Jia you!! (TO those running the Standard Chartered Marathon this December =D)

Here are the photos i promised!

Books on anatomy i started to read on.. Cause leg injured, so more interested in this field.

That big book on ANATOMY..

My buddy, Weida, ah Goh all Hyped up for the run!!

I'm my usual self with my trusty black cap! =D

Me, Weida, My dad before the run!!

Ok i know i am mad.. But yes, this is the game cover!!

The back cover!!

The inside compartments!! =D

Inside compartment after taking away the survey form!!SO Cool!
Finally my long long awaited game!! I am a happy man!!! =DD

I'm not going to stop, i've decided to keep going and
going.. i dunno the result, how its gg to turn out, but
i've decided, will work hard in my studies, my volunteer pursuits
my taekwondo pursuits and ,hopefully, in my love life.
Oh ya, i've been using this quote after all my emails i send out. haha..
I Actually copied it from Siew Mui, SVC president. haha..

Cheers,

Peng Yong
